5 Simple Ways to Reduce Stress

As the new year rolls around, many people are looking to get organized, get in shape, and reduce stress. Stress is just a part of life, it seems, and hard to escape completely. We have some great tips for how you can unwind and find some peace in life’s every day craziness.

1. Exercise
It’s a classic for a reason! Exercise releases endorphins which make you feel good and help you feel more relaxed.

2. Breathe
You can use the Breathe app on your Apple Watch or just periodically breathe in for a count of 4, hold for 7 and breathe out for 8. This well-known technique can really lower your heart rate and help you relax.

3. Eat Real
Instead of reaching for sugar and caffeine, reach for some fruit or nuts (in moderation!). Better yet, dip a carrot or a cucumber in hummus.

4. Laugh
Laughter really is the best medicine! Watch a funny movie or tv show. Google funniest animal videos. Or learn some silly jokes to laugh over with your kids.

5. Take a 5-minute vacation
Pour a glass of Gooseneck Vineyards wine and just pause. Take a pause with your spouse and catch up before dinner, share a glass and a laugh with a friend, sip with a book you’ve been wanting to read, sip while soaking in a hot bubble bath….or just sit down, sip, and close your eyes. You’ll be amazed at how refreshed you feel after just a few minutes. Do this daily and discover a whole new everyday.
