Gooseneck Vineyards | How to wrap wine

We all know that wine is the gift that keeps on giving (especially if given to a friend who is likely to share!). Choosing the wine for each person may be an easy task – pinot noir for mom, chardonnay for your best friend, prosecco for you because SELF CARE – but wrapping each gift may be a bit more difficult. Each bottle is so beautifully shaped and unique, which means wrapping could be a challenge. Don’t worry, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve to help you!

Gift Bag
By far, the easiest option, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring! A gift bag is an easy, classy way to gift a bottle of wine. Gift bags often come in bulk, so it’s great if you have several wine bottles to present! Some bags are specifically for wine, with a more narrow silhouette and tapered top. These wine gift bags usually cinch at the top with ribbon or other decoration and come in a variety of colors, patterns, and texture.

Bow
This may be the minimalist way to wrap a wine bottle, but we think it never goes out of style! A simple bow attached to the top or front of the wine bottle is a chic presentation. It dresses up the bottle, but allows the label and beautiful shape of the bottle to shine.

Tea Towel
This gift is two-fold: a delicious bottle of wine and a tea towel for the kitchen. Tea towels are a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to wrap a wine bottle- no extra paper to recycle! There are many techniques online, but our favorite is to stand the bottle in the center of the towel, bring the corners up above the bottle, and tie it with a cute ribbon. Add in some greenery or flowers to embellish if desired. So chic and simple!

Long Socks
This unique bottle gift wrapping idea really surprised us! Who would have thought a pair of argyle socks could look so cozy and cute as a gift wrap? This is a great idea for the hard-to-buy-for person in your life. Simply put the bottle in one sock and use the other to make a bow around the top. Thanks to Taryn Williford for this idea!

Paper Gift Wrap
Gift wrapping a wine bottle may seem like a daunting task, but it’s quite simple! There are some wonderful videos online about various ways to wrap a wine bottle with paper, but our favorite is this one- A Festive Wine Bottle Wrap
