Gooseneck Vineyards | How to wrap wine
We all know that wine is the gift that keeps on giving. It’s exactly what we hope to find in our stocking and under the tree. It’s easy to stock up, making sure to pair each person with their wine preference: Pinot Noir for your BFF Claire, Chardonnay for your mother-in-law, cabernet for you dad because he’s impossible to shop for, and prosecco for yourself because YOU EARNED IT.

Now that you have your stock of gifts and you are surrounded by bottles, what do you do with them? Wine bottles are beautifully shaped, but let’s be honest: a challenge to wrap. Don’t be bested by the perfect gift. We’ve got a few ideas to get you through the wrapping process.

Gift Bag
Let’s just start with the easiest option, because we’re all about keeping it simple. A tall gift bag is an easy, classy way to gift a bottle of wine. Gift bags often come in bulk, so if you have several wine bottles to present, make sure to grab a bundle!

Wine Gift Bag
We’re taking it up a notch, here. Maybe gift shops and wine shops offer wine-specific gift bags. These bags are taller and tapered, often cinching at the top with ribbon or cording. We like the shape of wine gift bags, and they come in a variety of colors, patterns and textures.

A Bow
This is the minimalist way to wrap a wine bottle, but we are really digging it. A simple bow, attached to the top or front of the wine bottle is a chic presentation. It dresses up the bottle, but let’s the beautiful shape and label of the bottle shine. This is a fantastic option.

Tea Towel
This gift is two-fold: a delicious bottle of wine and a tea towel for your kitchen! Tea towels are a sophisticated step up from regular dish towels, sleeker and sturdier. Creme de la Craft has a great tutorial on how to wrap a wine bottle with a tea towel. Find it here.

Knee Socks
This bottle gift wrapping idea really blew us out of the water! Who would have thought a pair of argyle socks could look could look so cozy and cute as a gift wrap? Thanks to Taryn Williford for this idea! (Great idea for the hard-to-buy-for guy in your life!)

Gift Wrap
While not for the faint of heart, gift wrapping with wrapping paper is a possibility. Bravely attempt this wrapping procedure after watching this how-to video.
