Movies on the beach

Mermaids, sharks, and pirates. What better place to see them (plus ghosts and gremlins) then at a movie on the beach. There are several film series planned this summer where you can watch a movie with a backdrop of surf, sand, and wine! Here are a few of our favorites…

North Kingstown Town Beach

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” – Aug. 19th at dusk.
Free Parking. Hot dogs, pizza, and ice cream available for sale.

Narragansett Beach

“Jaws” (Someone always shows “Jaws” at the beach.)  – Aug. 15th at dusk.

Misquamicut’s Wuskenau Town Beach

Drive-in movies at 9 p.m. for $15 per car.

“Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark” – Aug. 10th

“Caddyshack” Aug. 11th “Karate Kid II” – Aug. 16th

“The Breakfast Club” – Aug. 17th

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” – Aug. 18th

“Jurassic Park” – Aug. 23rd

“Jurassic World” – Aug. 24th

“Footloose” – Aug. 25th

“16 Candles” – Aug. 30th

“Happy Gilmore” – Aug. 31st

Also in Misquamicut, the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce presents free movies on Misquamicut Beach, 321 Atlantic Ave., Westerly, at 8:30 p.m.

“Sing” – Aug. 14th

“The Lego Batman Movie” – Aug. 21st
