Summer is full of fresh flavors, sunshine, sand and nights on the deck. Get out of your rut and give your next cheese tray a summer makeover!
The best part of cheese boards, besides the fact that they are hands down the easiest way to kick off a party, is how customizable they are! Anything goes – just follow your taste buds and you’ll have a beautiful spread on your hands!
Forget the dried fruit you use in winter – a trip to the local farmers market is all you need to inspire you. We added cherries and figs, crisp green grapes and some grilled apricots. (To grill peaches, nectarines, plums or any stone fruit, just brush them with butter and grill over low heat until soft.)
For cheeses, we went with a sharp cheddar, a mild blue cheese and parmesan and offered a selection of crackers for serving. Make sure every cheese has its own knife, so you don’t mix the flavors.
We added prosciutto wrapped breadsticks, soppressata salami and some smoked almonds for a salty crunch. And it’s all garnished with fresh rosemary snipped from the garden!
